Top 5 Concealers~!

Hey Guys~!

I'm here to tell you guys about my favorite concealers, one is high end and the others are drugstore.

Here's my definition of a good concealer for you guys so you understand my opinions. A good concealer has to cover either/all acne scars, redness, dark circles, or acne. It needs to feel nice and light on my skin. Also it can't break me out. My Skin has been really bad lately so I didn't want to post pictures of my bare skin. I'm sorry if you wanted to see the difference, but just know that I deeply like these concealers more than any others I've tried.

These aren't in any particular order so with that out of the way, let's get started >w<

E.L.F. Tone Correcting Concealer

I'm in the shade Apricot Beige, which I think is the lightest shade. It looks very basic and it has a basic doe-foot applicator. I like a lot of E.L.F. products and this is no exception. I saw it at Target and got it cause it looked like a good size for traveling. When I go on vacation I don't like to take a lot of bulky or expensive products. I thought this would offer barely any coverage, but I was wrong. This concealer is great for concealing dark circles and spots I have. I have extremely noticeable dark circles, and this covers them up with a few layers.

Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer

I'm in the shade 210, which is the second lightest shade. This is a pot concealer which I don't think is too common in the drugstore. It's moisturizing which I like because the under eye skin is very delicate. It has great coverage and sometimes I use it to conceal acne and redness cause it matches my skin perfectly. I got it in February this year, and I've barely made a dent in it. This is my daily concealer and I apply it under my foundation or B.B. Cream.

Physicians Formula Concealer Twins

The one I have is Yellow/Light. Both ends have a doe-foot applicator which makes application easy. The yellow side is for dark circles and the light side is for concealing other imperfections. The formula feels light and it blends in really well into the skin. However the yellow side has more coverage than the light side, so get this for the yellow side, not the light one.

E.L.F. Studio Concealer

I warned you guys that I liked E.L.F. This concealer stick is in the color Ivory, however it's more of a salmon color. Because of this, it's best to be used to cover darkness under the eyes or acne under your foundation or B.B. Cream. I would never wear this by itself cause it looks orange and it feels slightly heavy. Besides the shade name being wrong, this concealer is another great one for under the eyes or for spots and the low price makes it even better.

Benefit Boi~ing Concealer

The only high end concealer on this list, mostly because I don't buy a lot of high end. But I heard a lot of great things about this so I got it. I'm in the lightest shade 01 and just like the Covergirl one, this is also a pot concealer. I got Boi~ing to cover acne spots and redness, which it does that perfectly. Then I tried it under my eyes and I was even more impressed. It has a light, creamy texture which I really like. I got it with a gift card, but if I didn't have the card I wouldn't have bought it. It is a little pricey for me, but if you have the money for it, buy it.

Revlon Scented Nail Polish Review~!

Hey Guys~!

I have an awesome hidden gem of the drugstore for you guys. I've never heard people talk about these, and I'm here to get them out.

Revlon Scented Nail Polishes

Yep, you read that right. Scented nail polishes. No longer do you have to inhale the most disgusting scent of nail polish when you do your nails that makes me think of the chemistry lab at my school.

I have five of them. . .

A neutral toned red called Cherry Bon Bon, which smells like cherries.

A natural nude called Apricot Pastry, which smells like apricot.

A pale yellow called Lemon Meringue, which smells like lemons.

A minty-teal color called Mint Gelato, which smells really minty.

A Barbie doll pink called Strawberry Cream, which smells like strawberry shortcake.

Cherry Bon Bon is a great classic red nail polish if you like red nails. With one coat it is well pigmented and it's not always necessary to do two coats with this polish. It's scent is really strong and noticeable. If you want your hands or feet to smell like fresh picked cherries, I recommend this polish. Also this one in particular has a good formula and it lasts.

Apricot Pastry isn't as pigmented as the other colors, but it makes your nails look fresh and clean after you apply two coats. It smells more like fresh apricots rather than dry which I think smells nice. This polish would be nice for a French manicure.

Lemon Meringue is a great color for spring and summer. Personally I like wearing pastel nail polishes and this is the perfect pale yellow. However this one always takes longer to dry than the others for some reason. The scent isn't as strong as Cherry Bon Bon, but it still has a nice citrus scent.

Mint Gelato is my personal favorite. I love the color mint and I wear this on my nails a lot. It's an even blue-green mix and it's great for spring and summer. It has the strongest scent out of all the polishes, and I like the smell of mint so I don't mind it. However it's kind of sheer so you need two or three coats. It lasts really long on your nails and it's a pretty color.

Strawberry Cream has a unique scent compared to the rest of the polishes. Unlike the others that focus more on the fruit or the herb in their name, Strawberry Cream as both a strawberry scent and a whipped cream-like scent; making it smell extremely sweet. Personally I wish it just smelled liked strawberries. It's not a cool toned or warm toned pink, making it wearable on any skin tone. If you like a girly looking pink, this color is perfect for you.

Overall these polishes are really good. The smells are a nice change, the formula on most of them is incredible, and the colors are wearable.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review~!

Loreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream Review~!

Hey Guys~!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy with making videos and editing them. Hopefully I'll have a makeup tutorial up by the end of the week. Fingers crossed >.<

Anyways, I've been trying to find a B.B. Cream or a Tinted Moisturizer that works well for me. I wanted to find one that had good coverage, matched my skin tone, didn't break me out, and I didn't want to buy it online.

  • I tried the Maybelline Dream Fresh B.B. Cream in Light and the color was orange. It felt okay on my skin, but no powder or anything could fix the color.

  • I then tried the Physician's Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer. I got it in the shade Ivory to Light, but it was too dark for me.

  • Then I got a sample of the Smash Box Photo Finish B.B. Cream. I really liked it, but it was too expensive to buy a full sized one.

So I went back to the drugstore and got this. . .

I'd heard it was bad, but it was the only drugstore B.B. Cream that had a fair shade option. The packaging is sleek and I like how it's a squeeze bottle. It comes with 1.0 FL OZ. of product like most foundations.

What makes this B.B. Cream different than other ones I've tried is the pigment beads in this B.B. If you squeeze this out of its tube, it's white.

However if you blend it, the pigment beads break, changing the color from white to skin color.

It claims to prime to smooth the skin's texture, correct skin for a healthy looking complexion, hydrates for an all day moister, and perfects to hide any imperfections.

For me it does smooth my skin, corrects some redness, and it does hydrate a ton. In terms of hiding imperfections, this B.B. Cream conceals my smaller acne and acne scars. If you have a lot of acne I do not recommend this at all.

If you have dry skin, this B.B. Cream is perfect for you because of the hydration.

If you have oily skin, I recommend setting this with a powder if you want to try it. Here's a powder I like from Rimmel.

The only thing I dislike is that this B.B. Cream doesn't have SPF.

Overall this is my favorite B.B. Cream. It matches my skin tone, has decent coverage, and it hasn't broken me out once and I've been using this for a month. You can purchase this at your local drugstore for around $11 and at Target it's around $7.

I hope you guys enjoyed this review~!
and please comment cause
I want to know if anyone actually reads my blog

Maybelline Baby Lips Review~!

Hey Guys~!

Today I went out with my friend to the mall and I bought another Baby Lips from CVS. When I got home, I realized how many Baby Lips I own. One. . . two. . . three. . . four. . . five. . . SIX.  I never loved a lip product as much as I love these babies, so that's the subject of my post today, BABY LIPS~!

Like I said, I own a total of six Baby Lips, three from the original line and three of the limited edition ones.

The ones I have from the original line are #15 Cherry Me, #30 Peach Kiss, and #10 Peppermint.

Cherry Me adds a nice red tint to your lips without being as pigmented as a lipstick, but it still shows up.

Peach Kiss is a natural peachy nude tint and I recommend it as an everyday lip product.

Peppermint is my newest Baby Lips. It's clear, but extremely moisturizing and it has SPF 20.

The limited edition ones I own are #50 Twinkle, #60 Melon Mania, and #70 Coral Crush.

Twinkle looks like it could be a light pink when you look at it, but it's actually clear. It gives a lip gloss type look to whatever you're wearing under it and it gives a shine to natural lips.

Melon Mania gives a tropical pink tint to your lips. It's one of the well pigmented ones like Cherry Me. Personally I wear this color a lot during the summer.

Coral Crush isn't exactly coral, it's more orange tint. I recommend this for warmer skin tones since it doesn't look too good on my pale skin.

I first tried out Baby Lips a year ago. The one I bought was Cherry Me because I couldn't afford any of the red lip products I wanted. I'd heard good things about Baby Lips and about some of them being pigmented, So  I gave Cherry Me a go and I fell in love with it. It felt super moisturizing which I loved since I have kind of chapped lips.

I recommend Baby Lips to all my friends since it's a light feeling product with both pigment and moisturizing properties. I always like to carry one of them with me as my lip balm.

If you've never tried one before, I recommend starting with either Peach Kiss or Peppermint. Peach Kiss has a natural every day look. Peppermint is clear, but it has a minty scent and having it on your lips / near your mouth helps freshen your breath.

I hope this review was helpful to you guys and I hope you enjoyed it~!

Also I hope to post my take on the $20 Makeup Challenge by the end of the week.

Stila In the Know Palette Review~!

Hey Guys~!

Today I'm here to review one of my favorite eye shadow palettes, Stila In the Know. It's my everyday palette and it's has a great selection of matte neutrals. And it comes with one of Stila's smudge stick waterproof eyeliners.

The packaging isn't too flimsy, but not extremely sturdy. Its size isn't too big so it could be used for travel, but I'd recommend being careful with it since it could break. Besides that I like the packaging. It's light blue and the writing and stars are a shinny turquoise. It's simple and I think it works for this palette. The mirror inside is a decent size too.

As you can see there are ten eye shadows and an eyeliner within this palette. Like I said this palette is completely matte which I like because super glittery or shimmery eye shadows don't look good on me.

Because the photograph I took of the inside isn't the best quality, I'll describe the colors for you and post some swatches. . .

^^^^

Air - A white shadow (not as pigmented as the other shadows)
Wind - A light cream shadow
Desert - A tan shadow
Clay - A light pinkish-brown shadow
Earth - A deep brown shadow

^^^^

Driftwood - A warm toned brown shadow
Fire - A brick red shadow
Rain - A cool toned brown shadow
Smoke - A neutral grey shadow
Ebony - A deep black shadow

The full sized eyeliner that comes with the palette is in the color Halfmoon. It's a dark grey waterproof liner and I love it. It's well pigmented and really waterproof. It lasts for a long time without smudging under my eye, flaking, or fading.

Overall I really think this palette is extremely worth it to me. I got it six months ago and I've gotten a lot of uses out of it. I think it is a good investment if you. . .

1.) Wear neutrals A LOT
2.) Like matte eye shadow / Want an all matte palette
3.) Don't mind spending $39 on makeup

I hope this review was helpful to you if you plan on purchasing this palette~!

Sephora Samples Review~!

Hey Guys~!

Sorry I haven't posted something in a while. I've just started camp, so I've been a bit busy. But here I have some product reviews for you guys. So I went shopping a few weeks ago at Sephora and since I'm poor, I got a ton of samples. So I decided to review them for you guys.

I have. . .

- Smashbox Photo Ready BB Cream
- Benefit They're Real! Mascara
- Benefit Watt's Up
- Lancôme Cils Booster XL
- First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

With that, now let's get into the review~!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been trying to find a BB Cream for months now that I like. I tried the Maybelline one and the shade Light was too dark. So when I went to Sephora, I asked for a BB Cream sample so I could try it out. Initially I liked that it had SPF 35 and a Fair option. Because I'm extremely pale, I decided to sample the BB Cream in Fair. I tested it on my cheek because I have extremely red cheeks. I think this BB Cream has nice coverage if you compare the photographs.  Also it feels really light which is how I like a BB Cream to feel. Overall I think this is a nice BB Cream and if you have money to spend, I recommend it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I always like testing out new mascaras so when I got a mini Benefit's They're Real! sample, I was excited since I'd heard it was a good mascara. The wand has thick, spikey bristles and a sphere shaped tip with the same bristles.

It gives my lashes a thickness that I really like. Also it holds a curl really well. This is a really nice mascara if you can afford it, but a dupe for it is the ELF 3-in-1 Mascara. It's only $3 and it can be purchased at Target or on the ELF website. They have extremely similar wands except the ball on the ELF one is bigger.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next product is also from Benefit and it's a highlighter called Watt's Up. First of all I love the name and the packaging. I though I wouldn't like it cause I've never been a fan of highlighter. I had already tried Benefit's High Beam and it looked really bad on me. But I love this highlighter. It's a champagne color which I think looks nice with my skin tone. It gives a nice natural glow to my cheeks and I plan on buying the full sized one when I run out of my sample.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've never tried anything from Lancôme so getting this sample was exciting for me. I got the Lancôme CILS Booster XL, a mascara primer. I don't exactly understand the point of a mascara primer, but I thought it would be fun to try out. The product is white, but it doesn't turn your lashes grey or change the color of the mascara, and on a very basic wand. This promises to maximize the effects of your mascara. To test it I decided to use my Revlon Lash Potion Mascara (which I love). Lash Potion is a lengthening mascara and I thought the CILS Booster XL would lengthen my lashes even more. It applies strangely and it ruined the curl of my lashes and made them straight. Also it did nothing for my mascara. I don't recommend this product at all. It does nothing at all and the full size is $24.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My last product is a skin care sample that one of the Sephora employs recommended to me. It's called the First Aid Ultra Repair Cream. I have combination skin so sometimes my skin gets randomly dry. (I forgot to take a before and after picture of this product) I love using this because my skin doesn't feel greasy afterwards like it does with some creams. If you have dry skin or combination normal/dry I recommend this cream and I think it's completely worth it.

Alright so those are my reviews on some samples I got a Sephora. I hope this was helpful for you guys.

See you at my next post~!

4th of July Inspired Nail Tutorial~!

Hey Guys~!

So today I felt like getting my nails ready for 4th of July in advanced and here's the look I created. . .

Here's where you'll need
- a base coat (I used Revlon's Nail Hardener)
- red nail polish (I used Revlon's Cherry Bon Bon)
- blue nail polish (I used Essie's Beach Bum Blu)
- white striper (I used Milani's Nail Art in White Canvas)
- glitter top coat (I used an LA Colors Color Craze Glitter Polish)
- a nail art brush (I used a cheap paint brush)
- Vaseline

::rhinestones are optional::

So let's get started~!

Apply a base coat
to protect and
strengthen your nails.
If you don't have a
base coat you can use
any clear nail polish
or nail hardener.

Then put on 2-3 coats
of any red nail polish
 of your choice. I used
Cherry Bon Bon by Revlon
cause it's a cherry red and
it smells like cherries :3

Take your nail art brush (or a thin paint brush
and dip the tip in Vaseline. This will protect
the brush from drying out because of the nail polish.
Rub off any access Vaseline before dipping the
brush in your blue polish. I'm using Beach Bum
Blu from Essie. If you want to know more about
that polish, check out my previous blog post.

Pick a corner or two of your nail
and using the brush, lightly drag
the color so it looks like this. . .

Then with your white striper repeat
what you did with the blue nail polish,
but use it sparingly so you don't
cover up all of the blue.

Once that is dry apply a glitter top coat of
your choice. I used a silver glitter by LA
Colors. To add some more shine add a
rhinestone on the center of the fire work,
or take a glitter polish with larger pieces
of glitter and then applied that sparingly
on the center of the fireworks.

 And then you're done :)

I hope you enjoyed this nail art tutorial and have a great 4th of July~!
